Summer Apple Pie!

The movie Waitress, while sad, always changes my friend and I into pie makers. We are influenced by the movie and give our pies long names to match our current situations. We called this one “Katelyn and Nicole’s Saturday Afternoon in Tallahassee Pie.” We hope you all enjoy.

Recipe:

2 pie-dough crusts from store (check to make sure it’s dairy-free)

6 apples, peeled and sliced (I used red McIntosh apples)

cinnamon, 2 tsps

vanilla extract, 1 tspFullSizeRender (1)

salt, pinch

sugar, 1/3 cup

honey, 1 squeeze for 3 seconds 🙂

flour, 1/4 cup

water, 1/2 cup

pineapple juice, 1 tbsp

Preheat oven to 375 degrees, mix ingredients in a mixing bowl

Lay pie crust in pie pan, add ingredients

Place pie crust over top, pinch top and bottom pie crusts together

Cut air holes in pie top, place in preheated oven

Bake for 65 minutes, remove and set aside to cool
